Flow3 Recovery: What You Can Do in Week One

The week after your Flow3 procedure is just as important as the surgery itself. You have real power here—follow the right steps, and your eyes will heal faster and clearer. We recommend taking at least one week to rest properly. Below are the key do's and don'ts for smooth recovery.
What You Can Do in Your First Recovery Week
Do low-intensity activities
Take walks outdoors, do light housework, or gentle stretching. These are perfect ways to spend time while your vision settles back in.
Read and watch TV—in moderation
Just be sensible about it. Stop if your eyes feel strained or uncomfortable. There's no prize for pushing through discomfort.
Keep your eyes hydrated constantly
This is non-negotiable. Use the eye drop schedule your clinic gives you, and don't wait for dryness to appear—stay ahead of it. In the first week, more is better.
Protect your eyes from UV light
Summer sun is bright and intense. If light feels uncomfortable, wear quality sunglasses without hesitation. Your eyes deserve it.
Fly on an aeroplane
Yes, it's allowed after Flow3—but refresh your eyes every 30 minutes. Aircraft cabins are very dry, and hydration becomes even more important.
What to Avoid in Your First Recovery Week
Don't drive
Your vision will be slightly blurred after the procedure, so stay off the road. Ask a family member or friend for a lift. KSA also offers free taxi transport for Tallinn-area patients in their first week.
Don't rub or touch your eyes
Never a good idea—but especially critical now. After the procedure, thin protective contact lenses sit on your eyes during healing. Rubbing can shift them. Use soft, disposable tissues to dab away tears, and always wash your hands before applying eye drops.
Don't let water in your eyes
When you shower, be careful. Avoid water splashing into your eyes until the protective lenses are removed at your first post-op check.
Don't go to saunas, swim, or do water sports
It's not just water—hot steam, sweat, and chlorine can all cause problems. Skip these activities for now.
Don't do heavy physical work or intense training
Similarly, stay away from strenuous exercise and labour in week one. The good news? After the protective lenses come off (usually at 24 hours), you can gradually return to your active lifestyle.
Listen to your eyes, follow your clinic's aftercare instructions, and you'll be back to normal vision faster than you think.
