Kadri Voorand on Flow3 Laser Eye Surgery in Tallinn

Award-winning musician, singer and songwriter Kadri Voorand recently underwent Flow3 laser eye surgery at KSA Silmakeskus. Within seconds of the procedure, the results took her breath away. Her vision had never been sharper — and she knew her life had just changed.
"Wait, what?" Kadri gasps, visibly emotional as she recalls those first moments after Estonia's most innovative laser procedure. "I could have had this ten years ago. Why did I wait so long?"
She remembers opening her eyes and looking at the clock on the wall. I could actually read it. The wonder only grew as she stepped outside. Street signs. Building numbers. Details she'd strained to see for years suddenly came into focus. "I realised — this could have been my life for a decade already. But from here on, everything changes."
A life made simpler
Most Estonians recognise Kadri's name and her distinctive voice. As a singer, musician and composer, her life is dynamic — tours across Estonia and beyond, studio work, live performances. Life was good enough with glasses and contact lenses. But now, with myopia corrected, everything feels easier. More comfortable. Freer.
Contacts and spectacles had always been in the way. "Stage makeup and liner were a nightmare," she explains. "And honestly, I'm someone who jumps into things — literally and figuratively. Without lenses in, so many more activities are possible."
One thought wouldn't leave her alone
Then came the moment that pushed her toward Flow3. A single worry began to gnaw at her.
"I love doing things solo — hiking, exploring new places on my own. But I kept thinking: what if my contact lens falls out? What if I can't see clearly on one eye and I'm stuck?" Kadri admits. She'd felt real anxiety on trips — surfing, for instance, where she couldn't fully trust her vision. Every swim felt risky.
"To reduce those risks, I had to do this."
An embarrassingly funny moment
Sometimes, poor eyesight creates awkward situations. Kadri laughs as she shares one mortifying incident. She spotted someone she knew and rushed up for an embrace, enthusiastically congratulating them on a brand-new album release. Halfway through the hug, she realised her mistake. It wasn't the bass player at all — it was a completely different singer.
"I had to improvise my way out of that one!" she chuckles. "I offered belated birthday wishes and made my escape. My contacts were just too weak. I genuinely couldn't see clearly enough."
Stories like that — moments of hesitation, accidental mix-ups, the small frustrations of dependent vision — they don't happen anymore. Kadri's world is now sharper, clearer, and entirely her own.
